Approach
to Cases
Each case is different. There is no generic one-way-fits-all approach to family law issues.
I listen to your questions and concerns, eliciting information relevant to the main objective: developing an answer, tailored to the specific circumstances of the client.
When you leave the office, you will understand the legal situation better and know what your options are. I believe that there is always a solution to any problem---maybe not a complete one, but something that
can make things better. As a small, specialized office, we give personal attention
to each client---whether it is a single consultation or a case spanning many moons.
Overall, my goal is to answer each client’s
questions, or resolve a case in court, successfully, at the least cost and in the shortest time. Most cases are resolved by a negotiated settlement, which is less expensive, shorter, and more certain
than litigation. If that cannot be done (to a client’s satisfaction) however,
then contested hearings and trials are necessary. I enjoy all aspects of litigation
and engage in it zealously and thoroughly. I am in court almost every week. Our practice is mostly in Mason and Thurston counties, though not limited to these. I can also practice in any other county and have litigated in Snohomish and Kitsap
counties and U.S. District Court in Tacoma.
We keep our clients informed about what is going
on and realize that good communication is fundamental. Our office is welcoming
and user-friendly. Kids are welcome, too.
My legal assistant is knowledgeable on all my cases. She gathers information;
assists clients; contacts witnesses; answers many questions; arranges court dates; prepares, files and serves court documents;
and keeps files up to date. She also makes sure kids are not too bored while
they wait for mom or dad to finish talking to the attorney.
