Amy Rau (Legal Assistant)

Amy Neff is the office legal assistant.  Originally from Michigan, she has been a high achiever since her 4.0 GPA high school days.  She holds a paralegal certification from the Washington Online Learning Institute.  She is a member of the Washington State Paralegal Association.  She has also completed the Certified Legal Assistant (through the National Association of Legal Assistants) exam preparation course.  She works closely with Mr. Boldt on cases and is the main point of contact for clients, other attorneys, court personnel, witnesses, experts, and other third parties.  Amy makes sure the office is highly organized and works with Mr. Boldt to be responsive to our clients’ needs.  She is very knowledgeable about court procedures, keeps track of deadlines, and makes sure Jim is always ready for court appearances.  She works well with all kinds of people, is very efficient, and hardly ever makes a mistake.  Because of her, kids in the waiting room are never bored (well hardly ever).  She also participates in continuing paraprofessional legal education (for paralegals, legal secretaries, and legal assistants).    She is computer / Internet savvy, friendly, and helpful.

A graduate of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon (the oldest law school in the Pacific Northwest) in 1975, Mr. Boldt specializes in family law.  This includes such areas as

            dissolution of marriage,

parenting time issues (custody and visitation),

child support,

spousal maintenance (alimony),

property division,

adoptions,

protection orders (and anti-harassment orders).

Included are family law issues involving different states or countries.

Mr. Boldt took over the law practice of Kathleen McCormick, who retired from practice in Mason County after 12 years of practice that emphasized family law.

Mr. Boldt’s undergraduate education was at Southern Oregon University (in Ashland, Oregon), where he graduated (cum laude) in 1972.

Mr. Boldt also served three years on active duty in the Army and is retired from the Army Reserve as a JAG officer.

He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Washington and Oregon, federal district court for the Western District of Washington and for Oregon, the Ninth United States Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Boldt is a member of the Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He also attends continuing legal education sessions on family law (in addition to the standard continuing legal education required).

In a field of law often involving children, Mr. Boldt, the father of three children, also has the experience and perspective of a parent.
